When you play the new DLC for fallout 3 does it continue an already saved game?

I beat the game but my xbox crashed so i don't have it saved anymore. And i want to know if there is any DLC for fallout 3 I can play without an already good character or any DLC that automatically starts a new game. When you play the new DLC for fallout 3 does it continue an already saved game?
You will continue with your old character in the new DLC's unless you select new game.
For Broken Steel, you need to beat the game for it to take effect. So you will probably be a good level. I will say for the actual broken steel quests, a high level is advised because it is difficult at around a level 15.

Operation Anchorage you can do at level 2. It will not be too hard, but you probably not have a very good sneak, therefore having to take enemies out loudly. It uses mostly small guns, a misssile launcher, and 1 energy weapon.

Point Lookout is quite difficult so I would say level 15 should be good.

The Pitt is filled with raiders and probably around level 10 would be a little challaenge. When you play the new DLC for fallout 3 does it continue an already saved game?
no DLC starts a new game, the DLC is added to the Fallout 3 world and you are notified in-game within a game-day of installing- you go to the place it specifies and start the DLC.

The only DLC that isn't instantly available is the Broken Steel DLC, which continues the main quest, which obviously means that you need to finish the Main Quest before starting it.
The only DLC you need to be far in the game for is Broken Steel, as you need to finish the main quest first. However, you can reap its benefits beforehand (higher level cap, new enemies). The Pitt, Operation Anchorage and Point Lookout (also Mothership Zeta too, the new, upcoming DLC) can be accessible as soon as you leave Vault 101 (you receive a radio broadcast) however, they are often a long and perilous journey away to access, and need sufficient preparation to attempt. When you play the new DLC for fallout 3 does it continue an already saved game?
DLC of fallout doesn't start new games it always continues of of savegames, you won't be needing an awesome char for "The Pitt".

Anchorage is medium but for broken steel I'd recommend a high lvl.
you can dowload all of them from start, the only one that will not start is broken steel as it requires you to do the final mission.
